tiama frozen in

April 2024,  FROZEN IN

We are finally back in a place where Tiama looks the part. While we loved the time in the more temperate climates, it is really the more northern waters that hold our fascination.

We are totally frozen in with few feet of ice around the boat and the reflex’s heater humming away down below. Cosy as, enjoying  the snow and ice, it truly  is a magical  landscape.

We are at the Bay of Islands yacht club in Cornerbrook, Newfoundland.   A place of friendly people who make the time of day to have a chat and help out if they can.  Yes,  I know we are doing it the hard way (not)  overwintering and frozen in but with a nice town and coffee shop within striking distance.

We are  preparing the boat for another voyage further north, heading towards the west coast of Greenland end of May.  When we are as far north as Tiama can go, then we will turn left towards the Canadian Arctic and the NorthWest Passage, East to West this time, ice permitting.
